This was originally a simple wooden bathhouse located next to the 1920’s Biltmore swimming pool, but the imagination of a young carpenter neighbor and the design talent of renowned architect Lutah Maria Riggs transformed it, in 1937, into a unique family home in Montecito’s Lower Village.

There are three newly painted guest bedrooms with wood floors under the new carpeting. Included is the library/bedroom, which has built in shelves, a fireplace and an ensuite bathroom. The hallway connecting the guest bedrooms has refinished white oak flooring and new paint.The master bedroom suite with two doors to the outside, has a bathroom with colorful custom stained glass windows.

The kitchen has, as the owner says, “new everything.” This includes select white oak floor with custom details, cherry wood cabinetry (custom-made by Santa Barbara Bomo Design and Construction), quartzite marble countertops, handmade custom subway tile and all new appliances and hardware.

The far side of the breezeway is a wall of windows and newly glazed energy efficient dual-paned doors that face the rear garden’s fruit trees, roses (with timed drip system) and flagstone terrace. A new lawn with timed sprinklers borders the guest wing.
